If you are interested in being represented by agencies after you graduate, there are a few things you should keep in mind when getting started with a potential agent.

Building a relationship with agents takes time and it begins with communication. It is important that they can reach you quickly and as needed to confirm castings and bookings.
Your photos and all Marketing Materials must be current and up-to-date. This includes, notifying your agent of any changes to your appearance—hair style, hair color, braces, height/weight, clothing size, contact information, and availability.
Always read the contract before signing. Know the difference between non-exclusive contracts and exclusive contracts. Non-exclusive means you can work with other non-exclusive agencies. They do not take the commission from any work you book on your own or through another agency. Exclusive means you can't work with other agencies. Sometimes exclusivity can apply only to your state other times it can be
We encourage you to be pro-active in the development of your career —stay involved, join the casting sites if you are non-exclusive, and continue your training. Continuing your training means practicing your craft as often as you.
